Prince Harry – 2015

Overview: Prince Harry set to visit New Zealand and Australia:

Prince Harry will spend four weeks in April and May seconded to the Australian Defence Force, where he will be attached to various units to gain an appreciation of the Australian Army’s domestic operating environment and capabilities. He is expected to spend time at Army Barracks in Darwin, Perth and Sydney where he will take part in a range of unit-based activities, training exercises and domestic deployments. […] Prince Harry will accompany The Prince of Wales in attending the Gallipoli commemorations in Turkey on 24th and 25th April, travelling from Australia. Additionally, His Royal Highness will undertake an official Royal tour to New Zealand in May, at the invitation of the New Zealand Government. Detailed Itinerary: As Per Kensington Palace (29/04/2015):

“Prince Harry is very much looking forward to his first visit to New Zealand. He has heard so many great things about the country, not least from The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge after their tour last year. He has made a number of Kiwi friends over the years, especially through the course of his military duties and is delighted that he will now have so many opportunities to meet New Zealanders in every community he visits during his tour.” –Spokesperson for The Prince

Wellington (9th May)

Prince Harry will be greeted by the Governor General at Government House for an Official Welcome. He will visit the National War Memorial and ANZAC Square in Pukeahu National War Memorial Park. He will also attend the Hurricanes vs Sharks Super 15 Rugby Game at the Westpac Stadium.

Stewart Island (10th-11th May)

Prince Harry will meet the local community and travel to Ulva Island, a Department of Conservation open island sanctuary.

Christchurch (12th May)

Prince Harry will visit the Quake City Exhibition and Re:Start Mall and will meet student volunteers at The University of Canterbury.

Linton Military Camp (13th May)

Prince Harry will undertake a number of military activities with the Army, including learning the Army’s own Haka.

Whanganui (14th May)

Prince Harry will visit Putiki Marae and join the crew of the Marae’s waka for a trip on the river. He will also visit the war Memorial Centre to meet veterans.

Auckland (15th -16th May)

On 15th May, Prince Harry will visit Middlemore Hospital’s Spinal Rehabilitation Unit, which is supported by the New Zealand Rugby Foundation. He will hold a reception with emergency services at Government House.

On 16th Prince Harry will attend a FIFA U20 World Cup at the Cloud and before heading to the Millennium Institute of Sport.
